In the first quarter of 2003, Huawei won the most orders for a campus network construction project, for which total investment is RMB250 million, for universities in West China. According to a CCID survey, total investment in the information-ization of China's education industry exceeded RMB5 billion, RMB600 million of which was the investment in network equipment, in the first quarter of 2003.
