On June 4, 2003, Avici Systems announces a partnership with Huawei to rebrand Avici Systems' SSR and QSR series carrier class routing products in Huawei's data communications portfolio in China. The Avici products are complimentary to the Huawei family of routing products and will be sold together with Huawei's high-end routers to meet the IP network construction needs of China's carriers. Also, Huawei formally joins the Wi-Fi Alliance, an international organization that promotes Wi-Fi technology and market development. The company becomes the first network equipment vendor to join the Wi-Fi Alliance.
